The United States is full of incredible destinations and places to escape away while staying domestic. It actually wasn’t until this year that I truly discovered the extent of the beauty of its natural landscape!
Today, I am helping you to discover some of these must-visit places where you can enjoy a quiet holiday or birthday off the grid. I’m sharing my top cozy and cool cabin getaways in the U.S, so you can get inspired and book that perfect weekend getaway near a national park, on gorgeous lakes, or even a famous mountain range!

I Bar Ranch One of a kind Off Grid Cabin
One of my favorite cottages on this list is this ranch style cabin in Challis, Idaho, which also happens to be pet friendly! The house is located in one of the best cabin getaway locations in the country: the Salmon–Challis National Forest. If you want the quintessential cabin, this is the perfect place to get off-the-grid and enjoy mother nature and the company of loved ones
Oceanside A-Frame (Unit A)
There are many kinds of cozy and cool cabin getaways around the US, but if you’re in or near Oregon, definitely consider staying in this beautiful property overlooking the sea! It’s a great option if you are looking for a relaxing or romantic cabin getaway. The property has an amazing private deck from which you can view the ocean, all the way from Cape Meares to Cape Lookout. What more could you want?!
Sky Haus - A-Frame Cabin
Sky Haus is a true cabin-in-the-woods style getaway located near Stevens Pass, Washington. Just 15 minutes away from the slopes and right next to some of the best hiking in the Pacific Northwest, adventurous bookers will fall in love with this cabin’s charm. Surrounded by nature, the house has a very rustic feel to it while also providing all amenities you can need in your stay, including a phenomenal hot tub!
EcoFriendly Cabin in Zion
One of the most incredible accommodations on this list of cool cabin getaways in the US is this EcoFriendly Cabin in Zion, Utah. Check out the pictures: you get to stay in an amazing A-frame cabin featuring a retractable wall leading to an observation deck. You can truly enjoy the fresh air and views while still inside your room, or get up and walk out to the deck where you can sunbathe, barbeque or simply relax to the breathtaking Zion Mountains. This place is one of a kind!
Dreamy Upstate A-frame, Just 2 Hours From NYC!
I love living in NYC. The hustle and bustle of the city keeps me fulfilled, but even the most energetic of New Yorkers would want to take a break from the rush life of the city and escape into the comfort of the mountains to enjoy a peaceful weekend upstate. Here’s the perfect cabin to do so! Just a quick drive from the city, this beautiful and dreamy A-frame is the ideal way to add some natural vibes to your life. For my NYC friends: make sure to add this one to your list!
Classic Colorado A-frame on the creek
One cabin getaway right up at the top of my 2022 bucket list would be this Classic Colorado A-frame. Nestled just a mile from Grand Lake, you’ll be staying right next to the beautiful town known as the "Western Gateway" to the Rocky Mountains! Grand Lake has charming houses and a very beautiful landscape featuring the state's largest natural lake, a historic boardwalk, art galleries, delicious restaurants, and so much more! The large cabin is perfect for families or even a girls/boys getaway.
Stony Clove Cottage
Another of the coolest cabin getaways, this Stony Clove Cottage is a must if you love the Catskills as much as we do! Also within easy striking distance of NYC, this cabin is a rustic dream located right next to a gorgeous creek. Hiking, swimming, skiing, and all sorts of adventures await around the property, and the house itself features a cozy living room where everyone can gather around the warm stove and laugh the night away.
Desert Dome Stargazing Experience
If you’re a lover of exotic travel like me, you’ve probably imagined what it would be like to wake up in the Wadi Rum desert (near Petra) to the sound of traditional music, or watching the desert stars from your luxury tent at night! While we might not be able to easily visit Jordan right now, this minimalist modern desert dome in Williams, offers a similar unique experience in the Arizona desert! A must-visit for my West Coast friends and a really cool cabin to rent !
Sanctuary, Treehouse for Serenity
Another great option for my North Carolina readers, this is one of the most unique cabins. This treehouse perched ”in the midst of towering white oaks” near downtown Asheville is the perfect home base for adventuring throughout this beautiful area. The incredible overhanging balcony might make you a bit dizzy if you look down, but the views of the surroundings will take your breath away and distract you completely. The charming decor and cabin layout will truly let you get away from life and enjoy the isolation for a few days.
