There are many options to go for a vegan brunch in NYC. Today we are sharing the best choices from our local perspective

New York City offers an abundance of eateries for every dietary requirement and cuisine under the sun. But the sheer number of vegan food restaurants is next-level. Eric Adams, NYC's current mayor who also happens to be vegan, would likely agree!

Following a plant-based diet in New York City is so easy that no vegan will need to go without eating their favorite dishes. Plenty of spots serve amazing vegan brunch in NYC including crowd-pleasers like French toast, avocado toast, and more.

One of the only bad things about having so many vegan options is knowing which place is the best. So, we've put together this complete list of all the best brunch spots in the city with a vegan menu. Any one of these restaurants will satisfy a seitan and soy devotee in NYC!

The Butcher's Daughter

This brunch option has three locations: West Village, Nolita, and Williamsburg. All spots are modern, bright spaces serving an affordable yet delicious vegetarian and vegan brunch in NYC. The Butcher's Daughter also has a deli market so customers can take food home with them too.

Try one of their famous smoothies or signature vegan pancakes to begin the weekend the right way.

Urban Vegan Kitchen

We're sticking around the West Village with Urban Vegan Kitchen. They specialize in organic and vegan comfort food.

We love that their brunch menu has tons of classic brunch dishes. For example, they serve Belgian waffles, French toast, breakfast subs, and scrambled eggs.

It's a welcoming, unpretentious option for vegan brunch in Manhattan. And they're so dedicated to the vegan cause that there are photographs of farmyard animals hung on their walls.

Terms of Endearment

Terms of Endearment cafe is a hop, skip, and jump over the bridge to Williamsburg. It's a 100% vegan restaurant serving classic European cafe fare. Expect to find sweet and savory croissants, quiches, and dairy-free, gluten-free sweet treats.

Like a traditional European cafe, they have outdoor seating and offer take-out, too. Just remember not to tip like they do in Europe!

Caravan of Dreams

Some might think that seeking a cheap yet delicious vegan brunch in NYC is a fool's errand. But they would be the fools. Caravan of Dreams in the East Village offers both as well as organic and kosher food, too.

Their breakfast burritos, omelets, and pancakes are all bursting with fruits and veggies. Even their signature hot chocolate has tons of healing herbs and spices. Vegans visiting this restaurant with a cold will feel much better by the end of the meal.

As anyone would expect of a restaurant in the East Village, the interior resembles a bohemian Moroccan tea room. And it looks so cool.

DΓ©lice & Sarrasin

New York isn't short of fantastic French crΓͺperies. Lucky for the vegans out there, DΓ©lice & Sarrasin is one of them. This vegan brunch spot serves sweet and savory crΓͺpes in a hole-in-the-wall cafe.

In fact, we should say now that savory crΓͺpes are actually named galettes. It's good to know now before visiting the cafe and making a faux pas.

P.S. Kitchen

P.S. Kitchen offers the best vegan brunch in NYC if anyone is celebrating and want to splurge. This Hell's Kitchen vegan restaurant donates all its profits to charity.

Their staple brunch menu option is the PS Breakfast with mini corn muffins and lots of other goodies. But they have three others: French toast, Tuscan toast, and the tofu scramble wrap. Each dish is available to enjoy in a clean, minimalist dining room.

Pitanga

Buddha bowls and açaí smoothies are so delicious that omnivores can't get enough of them too. Pitanga has capitalized on the trend and opened a vegan Brazilian cafe in Bushwick.

This woman-owned business serves staple vegan breakfasts like chia porridge and avocado toast. But for those who want to try something different, we recommend one of the savory bowls like the Super Quinoa Bowl. Perfect for vegans who want to limit their sugar intake.

Blossom NYC

Blossom on University is a fine dining vegan restaurant serving classic American cuisine, by night. But on the weekends, this East Village eatery has an extensive brunch menu that brings in the crowds. It doesn't hurt that they serve boozy brunch cocktails like bellinis too.

If there's a classic brunch dish, Blossom on University serves it with a vegan twist. Expect tofu benedicts, tofu florentines, and big vegan English country breakfasts.

The Vegoist

Whoever said that Manhattan and Brooklyn are the only places with the best vegan brunch in NYC was mistaken. The Vegoist in Astoria, Queens will give them a run for their money.

They specialize in egg-based alternative dishes like scrambles and omelets. The Vegoist also has vegan bottomless brunch NYC deals and offers unlimited cocktails for less than $20! And for those who are crunching with their die-hard omnivore friends, they do have a small non-vegan menu, too.

Sestina

We've had French, Brazilian, American, and Kosher, so let's add a little Italian in the East Village into the mix. Sestina has a small but incredible brunch menu that any self-respecting vegan New Yorker has to sample at least once in their life.

This concept spot serves limoncello waffles, Caprese sandwiches, and primavera scrambles. Trust us when we say that all three brunch dishes are worth the splurge.

Smile of the Beyond

Another Queen’s favorite is Smile of the Beyond, an international vegan diner. This affordable restaurant delights customers with tasty smoothies, pancakes, and breakfast subs.

This Jamaica Hills brunch spot also serves beans and home fries, like Grandma used to make. And the portions are huge so that means more banging brunch for your buck!

Mae Mae Cafe

What do vegans love besides delicious plant-based dishes? Actual plants! Mae Mae Cafe in Mott Haven in the Bronx is half vegan lunch cafe and half plant shop.

They also serve meals created from their own farm's produce in upstate New York. This cafe serves cheap and simple brunch dishes like parfaits, porridge, and pastries.

Innocent Yesterday

To use its full name, Innocent Yesterday Guilty Today is a plant-based brunch and lunch spot. It's a cafe on the Upper East Side specializing in vegan sweet treats and small plates.

Its breakfast menu is a little more eclectic than others. Expect buttermilk biscuits and gravy, egg and cheese sandwiches, and avocado BLTs. All that and more is available in a living room-style cafe with cakes to take home for later.

Jajaja Mexicana

Mexican cuisine doesn't tend to be synonymous with vegan food, but it is at Jajaja Mexicana. This is an all-vegan restaurant on the Lower East Side known for its killer mezcal and tequila cocktails.

But it also has the best Mexican vegan brunch in NYC. Slide into one of their booths and chow down on kale pancakes or brunch tacos. Find out what a real vegan breakfast burrito should taste like or enjoy a colorful Ensalada Verde instead.

TRI Lounge & Cafe

Heading out to Staten Island? We recommend checking out the best vegan brunch spot in Grasmere. TRI Lounge & Cafe is an unfussy restaurant serving comfort food that might not look appetizing but tastes great.

They serve a little of everything and anything. Their brunch offerings include buddha bowls, cakes, salads, and smoothies. Or, order a simple yet tasty cheap breakfast like tofu avocado toast or sausages on bread.

Yes, we won't lie. It's the perfect brunch spot for a hangover cure, too!

Little Choc Apothecary

Little Choc Apothecary is a vegan crΓͺpery, bakery, cafe, and juice bar all in one. Located in Williamsburg, it's the go-to for whatever type of brunch a vegan could be hankering after.

They offer around 20 different toppings for their crΓͺpes. Plus, their savory crΓͺpes consist of awesome flavor combos like smoky jackfruit and pesto and avocado. It's all served in a charming spot with upcycled furniture.

Too late for brunch? Stick around for their afternoon tea menu. Or grab one of their many juices or smoothies to go.

Champs Diner

Sometimes only a greasy spoon breakfast will hit the spot. And vegans don't have to forgo the fun of the classic all-American diner thanks to the Champs Diner in Williamsburg. Its interior is exactly like any other diner in the country with its plastic chairs and checkerboard floor.

Champs Diner's menu is too. Enjoy dairy-free vanilla milkshakes with a pancake breakfast, French toast, and chicken and waffles. Don't forget to make the most out of the refillable coffee, too.
