As someone who likes to travel far and travel often, one of the things I get asked the most is how we find out about the experiences and adventures we seek out while on these trips. Often people are under the impression that we pay a lot of money to have these fancy private experiences, like renting our own personal dhow boat for a trip along the coast of Zanzibar, a private safari game drive in the Masai Mara park, or going on a sunset cruise on the Seine River in Paris. After all, a simple google search would tell you that all these experiences can be quite expensive!

So when I was approached to write a post about Airbnb adventures and Airbnb online experiences, I jumped at the opportunity! I’ve already been sharing this awesome travel secret with my friends and Instagram followers for a while, so it makes sense to write a blog about it too!

So today, I’m sharing my secret with all of you: how we get to have all these great adventures without breaking the bank, often paying far less than you would for a group experience with a big travel company. I’ll show you how you can do this not only the next time you travel, but also how you can have amazing experiences right now without leaving the comfort of your house!

Another of my favorite Airbnb experiences: tracking elephants in the Masai Mara game reserve with a Masai warrior. The Masai people are the local tribe that has always lived in the Masai Mara grounds and many other areas in Kenya. If you and your family or friends want to go on a safari, there is no one better than one of the Masai to show you around! The Masai Mara itself is one of the best safari destinations in the world. Not only can you see the famous Great Migration (if you visit in June-October) but you’ll also be doing so in a place that truly cares about the animals and mother nature. In an effort to protect its animals, Kenya made hunting illegal in 1977 and has highly prioritized the protection of its natural parks. Today, this lets us enjoy what is known as the “last great reservoir of wildlife on earth.” 

On my near-future-bucket-list are these great adventures in Utah: going canyoning and meeting the Alpacas! These two activities would be a great addition to anyone’s West US Road Trip!

One of the great things this year has taught me is to better appreciate secluded and naturally beautiful areas. Also for my west coast friends: there’s no better way to do it than while riding a horse! Check out this amazing adventure experience in Hobble Creek Canyon!

If I’m forced to admit it, my boyfriend is the better cook between the two of us. And by better, I mean he’s amazing! I paid attention when my mom made her famous lemon pie, so I actually have some pie crust skills. But I’m going to keep that a secret until we do this class, so I can be the better cook for once while he has fun and learns a new skill. A win-win situation, don’t you think?!
